IPTV IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television - This is where TV is delivered via the internet instead of more common means such as an aerial or satellite dish. IPTV can be broken down further into three categories. 1. Live TV - This is a live feed of a television channel. 2. Time Shifted - A TV channel or programme which has been broadcast prior then re-played. 3. Video On Demand (VOD) this is a collection of films or programmes which can be selected to watch. IPTV continues to grow, with new providers offering services. To watch IPTV you can do so through a set top box. There are many of these now, including Apple TV, Android, and many you will find on eBay providing more local channels from around the world. There are a few different types of boxes available - If you just want to watch some movies that you can pay for and channels which are free world wide then boxes such as Apple TV is great. If you wish to have more localised channels from home then the best place to find these are now on eBay (search IPTV box in eBay) we have found a newly released IPTV set top box which provides UK TV channels. We have not had any reviews on this or tested it but if you wish to get further information please contact us. New TV's are now becoming IPTV enabled, this means that a network cable will plug straight into your TV and from your TV you can connect to online IPTV providers such as "Love-Film". Streaming videos directly to your TV without the need of an extra set top box. |
